The Holocaust was important event in the history of the world because eventhough it was a tragedy, it brought the world together. With many people being killed the rest of the world realized that something needed to be done and they acted. The mass murder of these people caused the world to take action and end the chaos. From these events the world learned how to treat eachother better and prevent hate from leading to another world war or the extermination of a culture. The world learned how to treat other nations with respect and saw the devistation that could be caused when violence was used instead of words. The Holocaust was a tragedy that should have never happened but because it did, the world became a better place.

People Killed:

6,000,000 Jewish

5,600,000 Polish

270,000 Gypsies

581,000 Yugoslavs

3,300,000 Soviet POWs

80,000 Scotish Freemasons

5,000 Jehovsah's Witnesses

20,000 Disabled

Hitler led a group to kill all these people out of hate and want of a super human race. He killed all those who opposed him or did not have the super human race qualities. He did not see humans for what they were but as machines. He did not see the beauty of the human spirit or the capabilities that are within everyone. Through his murders the world saw the wrongs of strong hatred.
